Behance Project - NYC montages

This isn't new work but I thought it was worth grouping together into one place. Various montages from my last few visits to New York.
View the rest here.

Busy Busy
Juggling a few different jobs right now. In the meantime here's how my laptop screen looked early this morning:

The aftermath of a colossal battle. Hopefully I'll finish it (and the series) sometime this lifetime.

Behance Project - ESR Illustrations
Just posted a Behance project featuring the illustration work I did for some flash banner ads here.
As often happens during the course of a sizable project, lots of work was altered or completely discarded. I thought I'd keep some of the dumped stuff here.
One of the first (And most important) images needed was of an angry man pulling his hair out. My first try resulted in this:

Too angry they said.
I went back to the drawing board (Well laptop) and removed detail, hopefully softening the image a little:

Better they said, but does he have to be angry and pulling his hair out?
Hmm...
The whole thing then changed into a slightly perplexed guy lightly ruffling his hair.
In the end it was a really satisfying piece of work to be involved in. Especially considering I also did the design and animated them in flash. And then I was made redundant. Ah well...

And some more updates

Just added a design portfolio to my website - Hurrah! You can view it here.
Running out of room for navigation. What could be next? Animation? Shed building? Probably not shed building.

Miniscule Meanies
This is another personal project I finished recently, mainly as an exercise.
I fancied doing some vector character design which I hadn't really done before. It was also a good way to get my head around CS4 a bit more. Jump to the bottom for links.
I started with sketches built on simple shapes (100 in all):

And eventually recreated them from scratch with shapes, gradients and compound paths in Illustrator:

I guess after weeks of moody black & white holiday photos of monsters in New York I wanted to do something colourful and light hearted.
You can view the characters at Behance or see them one by one at Flickr. There's also some other examples on my website.
